RAW

RAW questions what happens when an editorial stops trying to be perfect. Built as a no-rules exploration of fashion, art and identity, the magazine embraces distortion, contradiction and imperfection to create a visual language that feels unapologetically raw.

A VIBRATION BECOMES A RHYTHM. A RYTHYM BECOMES A PATTERN AND BEFORE WE CAN MAKE SENSE OF IT, THE BODY ALREADY KNOWS HOW TO RESPOND.

MAYBE A MEMORY WORKS THE SAME WAY.

CERTAIN SOUNDS, IMAGES AND SENSATIONS BECOME PATTERNS OUR MINDS RECOGNISE LONG BEFORE WE CONSCIOUSLY REMEMBER WHY THEY PULL US BACK INTO IT. WE DON'T JUST REMEMBER, WE RELIVE IT.

PERHAPS REPETITION IS OUR WAY OF CHASING RECOGNITION BY RETURNING TO FAMILIAR PATTERNS IN THE HOPE OF FINDING SOMETHING WE ONCE FELT.

RAW BEGIN WITH THAT TENSION : BETWEEN REPETITION AND REINVENTION.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE STOP RECREATING THE PAST, AND START TUNING INTO IT'S FREQUENCY? DISTORTING IT, REMIXING IT AND MAKING IT OUR OWN?

raw

EVERYTHING BEGINS WITH A FREQUENCY.

THERE IS NO FINAL FORM.

ETC

AND EVERYTHING ELSE.

CHALLENGES THE IDEA OF PERMANENCE  IN DESIGN BY CREATING PIECES THAT CAN SHIFT, DETACH, RECONSTRUCT AND EXIST DIFFERENTLY WITH EVERY ENCOUNTER.

NOTHING IS DESIGNED TO ARRIVE AT IT'S FINAL FORM.

I kept returning to a simple contradiction :

If transformation never really stops, why do we keep  designing for a finished state?

Jewellery traditionally arrives resolved.

It's anatomy is predetermined before it ever encounters ours, a ring anticipates a finger, an earring an ear and so on.

Instead of asking "What should I design for the body?"

I began asking: "What can I design before deciding where it belongs?"

Et cetera

And the rest.

And other things.

That unfinished list becomes the point.

A person changes

A body changes

A meaning changes

The way we see ourselves changes.

And yet design is traditionally obsessed with resolution: the final sketch, the finished product, the intended function, the correct way to wear it.

ETC rejects the idea of THE FINAL

Not because nothing has a form

But because every form is temporary.
